Sunset Beach . Longboat Key, Florida.

Sunset Beach’s triad of buildings transcends the typical condominium feel and creates a resort ambiance on a 6 acre site on the Gulf of Mexico.  The relationship of the three buildings became the central organizational element, creating an elegant courtyard while offering each unit a view of the water.  The central court, with its shaped pool and terraced ground plane, unifies the project parts and provides a focus for resident activity.  The facades feature deep set fenestration offering protection from the Florida sun.  The play of light and shadow participates in creating a complexity of space and richness of environment.
