Hermitage Cottage . Manasota Key, Florida.

The historically designated Hermitage Beach Cottage originally built in 1934, was rehabilitated in 2009. It was once a part of a small resort, now converted to one of the five buildings located on the Hermitage Artist Retreat. This is a county owned property that is being managed and maintained by a foundation.

The design and construction documents were coordinated with the County Building Department. Permitting was required with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the County Department of Natural Resources. This building was relocated approximately twenty feet to avoid a coastal dune and midden.
